(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) Aug. 19, 2008—Four-brother band and new Word recording artist Remedy Drive anticipates the release of its national label debut, Daylight Is Coming, Aug. 26. In addition to finding favor with top-notch booking agency, the William Morris Agency, Remedy Drive is experiencing phenomenal feedback from fans, who voted its first music video, “Daylight,” to No. 1 on TVU’s “Most Wanted.”
After four years on the road as an independent artist, Remedy Drive will team up with renowned talent agency, the William Morris Agency (615-963-3000/www.wmaccm.com). Mark Claassen, agent, comments, “We’re really excited to be teaming up with Remedy Drive! They put so much effort into their energetic show that everyone leaves excited and encouraged. After listening to the CD, seeing them perform, and hearing their hearts for music and ministry, we felt like all the elements were there for a long-term thriving career.”
And in its short time on the national Christian music scene, Remedy Drive has already proven its staying power. Last week, the band’s debut music video, “Daylight,” was voted to No. 1 on TVU, a nationwide, 24/7 music video television network. The video will additionally be available to fans across the country through Interlinc. To view the video online, visit: www.myspace.com/remedydrive.
TVU’s program director and music director Nikki Cantu remarks, “Remedy Drive hitting No. 1 on our TMW Show for TVU is no surprise to us. The viewers absolutely love the video and have fallen in love with the band!”
Produced by 2008 GMA Dove Awards Producer of the Year Ian Eskelin, Daylight Is Coming showcases Remedy Drive’s high-energy, piano-driven rock sound. The album is winning with old and new fans alike not only via exposure of its music video but also at radio, as Remedy Drive’s current single “Daylight” moves up the CHR chart.
David (vocals, keys, guitar), Philip (bass, vocals), Paul (guitar, vocals), and Daniel Zach (drums) originally began playing together in college around Lincoln, Nebraska. It wasn’t until 2003 that the band now known as Remedy Drive ventured outside its stomping grounds into territory spanning the Midwest and West Coast. In the last two years, Remedy Drive has performed more than 200 shows annually, including concerts at festivals, colleges, camps, conferences and churches. The band’s indie release, Rip Open the Skies (2005), has sold more than 20,000 copies to date.
Keeping that pace, the band recently wrapped the spring 2008 “LifeLight Tour” with Building 429 and Bread of Stone. This summer, Remedy Drive appeared at major festivals including Spirit West Coast Del Mar, Spirit West Coast Monterey, Crossover, Ichthus, and Higher Ground. The band continues on the road this month playing Lifelight, Rock the Light as well as other performances and youth camps. For more information about Remedy Drive, visit www.remedydrive.com.
